take you through the Christmas season, beginning in Advent and finishing at
Candlemas on 2 February.

traditional advent calendar and carol service, Andrew’s words lead readers
through the whole Bible in 68 days. Beginning in the Garden of Eden and
settling in the beauty of Revelation’s New Jerusalem – hence the title –
readers are encouraged to consider God’s promises of redemption and the hope of
future glory.
Andrew says: “This selection of readings, with accompanying
reflections, is a follow-up to the book I wrote for use during Lent. I am
deeply grateful for that book’s readers, who encouraged me to continue with a
second offering. At first, I intended to write just for Advent, a season full
of anticipation and promise. However, as I started out, it seemed right to
include the seasons of Christmas and Epiphany, with their themes of joy and
glory.
“The main text was written during the autumn of 2025, when
my wife Chris and I were serving as part of the Garden Tomb community in
Jerusalem. When we arrived, the conflict between Israel and Gaza was still very
much a reality. The numbers of tourists and pilgrims visiting the Holy Land
were fewer than normal, so I had valuable time for reading, research and
writing.”
From a garden to a garden city is released on 1 September
2026, so readers can be ready to start its daily readings at the beginning of
Advent, towards the end of November.
