Spring View Publications is a small publishing house, specialising in slightly quirky books that don’t necessarily fit into a traditional publisher’s portfolio. It came about almost by accident, when Candy Evans decided to gather her father’s writings into a book. From Happy Dog to Dolly Parton became Chris Thomas’s 80th birthday present and marked the birth of our new venture. Since then we have published a number of books, some for individuals who only want a few copies for family and friends and others – like Happy Dog – that are on the wider market. We use a simple print-on-demand system so if you choose to publish with us you won’t be stuck with hundreds of copies in the garage. Booksellers such as Amazon and Waterstones have access to the books directly from the printer and will call off copies as they need them. You’ll get a number of books at publication and you’re free to buy as many more copies as you want, at a discount. Our portfolio is still small so we’re not yet able to publish free of charge, but we aim to keep our prices reasonable.
